The Heisman Trophy is awarded annually to the most outstanding player in college football in the United States whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners demonstrate great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work. The Heisman Trophy is presented by the Heisman Trophy Trust in early December before the postseason bowl games. The award was created by the Downtown Athletic Club in 1935 to recognize as the most valuable college football player east of the Mississippi. After the death in October 1936 of the Club's athletic director, John Heisman, the award was named in his honor and broadened to include players west of the Mississippi.
The Vince Lombardi Trophy is awarded to the winning team of the National Football League's annual championship game, the Super Bowl. The Vince Lombardi Trophy is considered to be the NFL's most prestigious award. It was originally called the "World Championship Game Trophy", at a time when the Super Bowl was originally named the AFL-NFL World Championship Game but in 1970 it was renamed to the Vince Lombardi Trophy in honor of the legendary Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi.
The Heisman trophy and the Lumbardy trophy are amazing football trophies to have but to have these trophies 3D printed is taking these to the next step. If you want to take this to the next step you can always get those 3D printed football trophies and do a post processing on them and paint a shiny reflective or a rustic brown to match the original model and really show off those football trophies of yours. You can always go the creative route and create or modify your own 3D printed trophy and maybe with a little bit of searching on any of the top 3D printing STL sites such as Thingiverse, MyMinifactory or Pinshape. We've easily searched online and found some great models that gives us some great ideas for 3D printing in the near future for some new kind of sport trophies, you never know what you might find online.
New Orleans Saints
2010 Superbowl Champions
Down here in the south it's Saints territory and it wouldn't be a true NFL post if we didn't talk about the 2010 New Orleans Saints victory over Indianapolis Colts. This was the Saints first Super Bowl appearance and the fourth for the Colts franchise. The Saints entered the game with a 13–3 record for the 2009 regular season, compared to the Colts 14–2 record. The Saints defeated the Colts by a score of 31–17, earning their first Super Bowl win at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees, completed 32 of 39 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns and was named the Super Bowl MVP.
Any football fan knows that Drew Brees is ripe in his old age as a New Orleans Saints quarterback but that hasn't stopped from his first round NFL draft pick back in 2001. Drew Brees's stats speak for themselves from the completions, to the yards and touchdowns there's nothing that seems to slow down Drew Brees. Drew Brees is a one of a kind football player and that is why he is the perfect candidate for us to showcase off our newly 3D modeled New Orleans Saints five inch football figurine.
At first we didn't know who to choose or even what outfit to 3D model afterward but modelling after Drew Brees and the black iconic New Orleans Saints jersey was an opportunity that we couldn't pass up on. Though there are tons of other football teams and plenty more players to model after this is only the beginning when it comes to 3D printing football figurines.
McNeese State University
It's time for the cowbells to come out because it's game day baby and McNeese is going to do all they can to make sure that they get that win in Cowboy Stadium. The McNeese Cowboys are getting ready for the first home game of the year and tonight at 6:00p.m. they take the field and battle it out against the Florida Tech Panthers.
It was a fun little project writing about our beloved McNeese Cowboys and incorporating 3D printing with the two. Just like all the other figurines that we have done this figurine is 5 inch tall figurine. Though this model is not a complete representation of what the team wears but an overall concept to prove that 3D printing football figurines can be done and looks pretty awesome at the same time. Now if only we can get to 3D scan these guys. Nevertheless our 3D modeling skills in Bender have improved and are continuing to improve to showcase new figurine positions and new designs concepts especially when representing the McNeese Cowboys.
